Ten One Twenty Cafe Review, Cairns Australia
In a city where cute suburbs are fairly rare, Edge Hill is definately that. Nestled into the hillside along with the Botanic Gardens and Tanks Art Centre, Edge Hill is a lovely break from the grid structure of the rest of the city. There is a growing community of quality cafe’s and restaurants that make it a popular destination for weekend breakfasts and lunch time treats. The two cafes that via for the top coffee spot are Osmosis and Ten One Twenty. Osmosis has the money and the foody crowd, with designer wall garden and extensive outdoor seating. Ten One Twenty is more of the Melbourne Cafe, improvised and funky… it’s all about the coffee.
Ten One Twenty Cafe Review
Not the most exciting location but one of our favourite spots in town for coffee. Always consistent, great balance and the menu is… well, exciting! I don’t think I’ve seen a breakfast menu like this in Far North Queensland, very inventive. I’m a bit of an Eggs Benny fiend but it’s rare to find interesting variations let alone so many, the execution is wicked (I still hate crusty ciabatta though). There’s portobello mushrooms, pulled lamb, pulled pork, potato rosti…the list goes on for benny interpretations. There’s breakfast burritos, rhubarb & strawberry french toast… somebody make them stop. I’ve decided whilst posting this that breakfast at Ten One Twenty is on the cards for our next visit to Cairns!
